Spring Fling

custom

It's here! The Spring Fling! I can't wait to see all of the fabulous Spring items you share with us today! Be sure to enter the AMAZING giveaway below! All of the entries are strongly suggested but not mandatory. But let's be real, all the participating blogs are fabulous. You don't want to miss out on our future posts.

Here are the other blogs who are participating:
Pineapple Lily
Behind the Scenes
Digging Deeper
Classy in KC
Brittney's Orrdinary Life
Pish Posh Couture

I personally have enough Spring fever to last the normal person a few years. I worked a bit on the exisiting bed that was here when we moved in. We also started the process of building a massive new one in the front of the house. I seriously can't wait.

The exisaiting bed was pretty awful. There was a TON of foundation overflow in it and it was very rocky. For that reason, it made planting a bit difficult because the soil isn't that deep. Look what I found to combat it!
Isn't that a great Shepard's hook?

I added a bird feeder. Chirp chirp.

And these 2 hanging pots.

In addition to some Knock Out roses I planted last year, I replaced some of the ornamental grasses with new ones and added 2 of these beautiful flowering shrubs.

Feeding My Temple

Now, it's time for Worship Wednesday with Meredith!

Hey Feeding My Temple Readers! I'm so excited to be guest posting today on Allison's blog! We have so many things in common, it's been so fun to get to know her a little bit!

Usually on Wednesdays I do "Work it Wednesday" over on my blog, where I talk about staying healthy and active. I also post exercise videos with different workouts you can do at home. However, today I'm taking a break and switching gears to Worship Wednesday.

I grew up an active member of the LDS, or Mormon, church. However, I've decided to take a new path and explore things that provide me peace and joy, which I feel are at the heart of any form of worship. Through a lot of introspection and experimentation, I've discovered that things that bring me back to center and provide me with peace are not necessarily the normal things.

I love yoga. I try to practice it at least once a week, if not more. I find that by pushing myself to do something out of the norm and different, helps me to understand my own personal boundaries and just how much I really can accomplish if I decide to do it.

Just this last week, my husband took me on a small, yet steep, hike. It was well outside my comfort zone, but I knew the view at the top would be lovely, as well as the company. I pushed myself. I climbed the side of that mountain and I reached the top. We walked around a little bit and explored a path that was actually up there. It was so peaceful to overlook the valley and look down on what I had just climbed up. I felt accomplished. I felt at peace. That brought me back to center.

So, on this here Worship Wednesday, I ask, what brings you back to center that may be out of the norm? If you're not quite sure, I challenge you to explore yourself and look to find something that is outside your comfort zone, but brings you peace.

Sponsor Spotlight {Mer's Memoirs}

Go say hello to Meredith! She is my newest sponsor and I know you are going to love her!

Mer's Memoirs is my little corner of the internet to share my DIY projects, home decorating ideas, recipes, too many pictures of my dogs and things I'd like to remember for the years to come. Mer is a nickname that those close to me call me, my full name is Meredith, but you can call me Mer. This year I started the Work it Wednesday series to share great exercises, healthy eating tips and other ways to stay in shape and maintain a healthy life. Eating healthy and staying fit are two of my greatest passions and I've learned a lot along the way to living a healthier life, which I love to share on my blog. I blog about just about everything.

A Well Deserved Giveaway...for YOU, my friends.

Friends, it is time for a giveaway! I passed 300 GFC followers last week and I couldn't be more thrilled. It isn't about the numbers, it is about the people. Each and every one of you allow me to be myself. And for that, I wanted to offer this beautiful prize!

Win a custom stamped (up to 10 characters) necklace from Bella Vita Jewelry

I met Brandy (owner and designer for Bella Vita) at the Oklahoma Bloggers Meet Up. I love supporting a local artist, especially one with this amount of impressive talent. I have been drooling over several of her pieces in her shop

The giveaway is simple, just follow the instructions below. Contest ends March 1, 2012. Good Luck!

I thought all the Thunder Girls were inside the arena?

This won't be a wordy post. Just one filled with fun photos. I had a blogger date with Melissa!

The title of this post? Probably the best pick up line I have ever heard from an 18 year old kid.
 Ahem, moving on.

 Our night included some fabulous food from Bolero...and possibly a bottle of wine.

Fried artichokes. My life is complete.

We enjoyed the food, wine, and company so much that we didn't make it to the game on time...at all...like not even close. Fine by me. I probably could have killed 8 more platters of bacon wrapped dates.

This guy was hilarious. Ya know, after his peanut shells landed in my hair. Who eats peanuts??

These poor Thunder....yeah, I don't know what they were called....were forced to take everyone's photo. So I invited them to actually be in some. Thoughtful, I know.

I...I don't know. I really don't.

An older man named Robert had a tough time working my camera phone. The guy on the left called it a Zack Morris phone. I bought it in August...sadly it didn't come with the Zack Morris bag. Whatev.

Dreaming Big is a place where I share my dreams and seek to inspire, encourage and equip fellow dreamers to continue to pursue God's very best for their lives.  I'm tired of seeing people settle for a ho-hum existence and want to shake things up and say "Don't stop until you're living your dream life!"

Sponsor Spotlight {Classic+Glam Blog}

Meet one of my newest sponsors!

 Halle from
 Classic+Glam Blog
Twitter

 I started this blog simply to keep my ideas in store! Also, to share my thoughts will the Blogger community. I've been reading blogs for the past couple of years, but I never thought of actually starting my own! One day, I finally took the big step, and decided to take on the responsibility of actually writing out my own thoughts. If you're a blogger, you might know how I felt: what if my they think my ideas are stupid, useless, and dumb? What if it's all just for nothing? What if...? I had all of these terrible thoughts! But all my followers I got in one week, along with all the sweet comments helped me overcome this doubtfulness and I think the Classic+Glam Blog will help me interconnect with others! :) Thanks for reading!

high five for friday

hello, friends! here is my "high" five for this week!

Photobucket

1. Cupcakes to Hot Buns officially kicked off! With much success I might add. You can find yours truly as a regular contributor in all things fitness, healthy living, and nutrition!

2. Just in time to kick it into high gear, P90X and a new big bag of Shakeology arrived this week! Speaking of, I'm starting a 30 Day Beachbody Challenge group! We'll track our progress along the way, hold each other accountable, and motivate, inspire, and encourage each other to achieve amazing results. Let me know if you would like info!

3. This also arrived. Holy wow. TestTube is similar to Birchbox, but you get one BIG box every 3 months. I HIGHLY recommend getting a subscription. Go here

4. Oklahoma Bloggers Night Out! Woo-hoo! HORRIBLE photo of me, for real. But I finally got to meet some familiar faces and some new ones! OKC has some amazing talent.
Sarah, me, Brittney, and Melissa!

5. And it gave me a good reason to bust out the red skinnies. I have no clue why Beau Dean looks like a weasel with rabies.

What were the highlights of your week? Anything fun planned for the weekend? We are forecast to have a "major" winter storm some time this weekend. And I'm pretty sure tonight's low temperature is 8...ugh.

Thursday, February 9, 2012

oh, hello.

Whoa, so who's been quiet on the blog lately? Me. Sorry about that. To all of you new here, I promise I'm not like that.

I am still in the process of getting together info for social media consulting. Business cards, say what?? I promise the info is coming soon!

Speaking of, what social media do you like to use? Any that you aren't a fan of? What aspects of social media do you struggle with? If you are a blogger, do you feel you have the resources available to promote your blog/brand?

Discuss.

I'm super excited to attend my first OKC Bloggers Night Out tonight! My husband was fabulous enough to attempt to corral Austin for the evening so I can go! I'm really looking forward to seeing some new faces, not to mention it is at The MakeUp Bar. Um, hello. You can't go wrong there. I think I'm going to wear something similar to this:

Untitled #1

Because you always need a reason to wear red skinny jeans!

Sponsor Spotlight {Hart to Heart}

Meet Leigh Anne! Is she not beautiful?? I am so obsessed with the items in her shop! Go check them out!

Hello readers! I’m Leigh Anne and I am a very new blogger! I like to consider myself a jack-of-all-trades. The past 16 years of my life were spent as a dancer practicing nearly 24 hours a week, but when I got married and moved to Alaska this summer my journey and direction in life took a change. While being a full time PR and Communications student is great I needed another outlet for my creativity, so I began exploring the idea of blogging and here I am now.  My blog will follow my journey of crafting, cooking and creating while balancing life of being the wife of a deployed soldier, full time student, and aspiring personal trainer. Phew! Yep, it’s a bit crazy and chaotic but I’d love to share my whirlwind of a life with you! Oh and did I mention I have an Etsy shop? Come check it out : Hart to Heart Designs; handmade hair accessories and photo props. Looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you!

Sponsor Spotlight {Living at 123}

Say hello to Heather !

Hi, I'm Heather. Just Heather... I'm married to an amazing husband that finds the humor in all my antics and I will soon be a mom. That's right, as in parent to a child. Not a furry, four-legged child like I already am, but a human one this time. It has been a LONG 9 months with most of it spent on bedrest growing this baby. I'm anxious to get back to life and ME. I love crafting, some of which does not turn out so crafty. Decorating my house or your's if you ask... Reading, I was reading/writing teacher for 7 years. This comes natural to me and I read everything! Magazines are my guilty pleasure. Cooking, it is good to burn something occasionally to keep those of us considered Top-Notch Chefs humble. I love going to flea markets and finding trash to turn to treasures. I haven't been in quite some time due to the pregnancy, but plan to get back into treasure hunting. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE all things beauty and product related. I'm a junkie. I can't help it.
I strive each day to make it better than the one before. Grab a cup of coffee or glass of wine and stop by and visit!
