Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Sandwiches

Is there anything better than barbecue? Where I'm from, no...not much. This is one of our favorites at our house, and each time I make it, we sit over the bowl and eat the meat by the fork full. Imagine neanderthals. Cute, huh?

This recipe takes the leg work of sitting by the smoker all day (unless you're into that kind of thing), and transfers this dish to my all time favorite--the crock pot. I don't know about you, but I hug my crock pot on a weekly basis. We're tight.

Also, please take note, my recipes are now printable. This is a request made by several readers. I hope this makes it easier for you!

Simple dry rub.

Mustard coated roast. (Trust me on this one. It WILL NOT taste like mustard.)

Mustard coated roast + dry rub.

Delicious.

But...I don't like mustard. (This is not surprising, is it?) Will it taste like mustard?

Not at all! I'm weird about mustard too...but I promise it doesn't taste like it one bit!

I am going to give this a try. Living here in Texas BBQ is king. Everyone has their own special recipe. My own dear husband is one of those people who does like to sit out with a smoker all night and cook something 'low and slow' as the saying goes. Personally I do not like a heavy smoked meat. So we agree to disagree. I am going to try this recipe really soon. Thank you so much for posting this.

Thanks! Let me know how you both like it!

This has me intrigued. I am not a huge mustard fan, but I really want to give this try. I think it will give it a nice tang. I am pinning this one to make soon! Thanks for sharing :)

I promise you can't taste the mustard. Really, I think it helps keep it moist?

Do you use all of the dry rub? Kind of seems like a lot...I have a 4 lb. roast. Thanks so much, can't wait to try it when it's done this evening!

Allison said...

It does seem like a lot, and I think that almost every time I make it! You don't have to use it all. If you think its too much, you can flip your roast over into the water. Some of the rub should come off. I'm looking forward to hearing how you like it!
